Saint Kentigern College offers international students specialised tennis and golf programmes combined with mainstream academic study or ESOL.
Full academic year and short course programmes are available.
Our programme offers top level coaching and competition play in tennis and golf for students who excel in their chosen sport.
The programme is selective, ensuring dedicated coaching and providing a pathway for top players to receive the attention necessary to get to the top and stay there.
Our high performance programmes focus on individual player development, channelling energy towards sporting success while ensuring that balance is achieved within a sound academic programme.
Most international students enter a specially designed and balanced classroom programme, concentrating on English, mathematics, general science, physical education and their chosen sport (other subjects as required).
Students who are proficient in English and meet the required criteria may apply for enrolment in the full College programme.
The New Zealand Qualifications Authority approved certificates in tennis, or golf allow students to gain learning credits in their chosen sport.
This runs from the beginning of February each year until graduation in early December. Vacations occur in April (2 weeks), July (3 weeks) and September/October (2 weeks). In New Zealand the seasons are reversed from those of the Northern Hemisphere and occur as follows:
