Speech & Drama
Saint Kentigern students are great communicators and gain enormous benefit from their involvement in speechmaking and the dramatic arts. Each student prepares and gives a speech at the annual speech competition developing speech writing and delivery skills.
Drama and dance is taught as part of the Arts Curriculum at all levels. The boys receive specialist drama and dance instruction as part of their classroom programmes to hone their acting skills and develop confidence in performing to an audience. Boys have the opportunity to perform regularly at assemblies and for parent audiences.
Every second year, a full scale drama production is staged involving a large cast and crew. There are opportunities for boys to become involved at many different levels from leading roles to learning the many skills of a backstage crew.
In the following year, a school wide Arts Festival takes place. Every student has a role to play on stage during the festival along with their classmates, as well as having a piece of artwork in the Visual Arts display.
