Above all else, the well being of our students is paramount and at Saint Kentigern, you can expect the very best care for your child.
Our pastoral care system aims to care for the whole student through positive awareness and care of one another. This is borne out through excellent staff/child ratios for our preschool children, small class sizes at primary level and even smaller tutor groups at College, along with a dedicated team of staff who monitor every student’s progress - socially, academically and emotionally.
Our students develop trusting relationships with their tutors and teachers and enjoy an environment where, as a result of school policies, issues such as bullying, should it occur, can be dealt with and monitored promptly.
Peer support also plays an integral part in developing a sense of connection and well-being with organised support encouraged between groups of Senior and Middle School students at the College, and through the Buddy System at the Boys’ School and Big Sister programme at the Girls’ School. Year 8 students from the Girls’ School offer leadership in the Preschool.
Students who need a little more care than usual have access to our qualified Counsellors at the College and the Chaplain at the Schools. This team is highly skilled in supporting youth in need of counselling.
Combined with the strong values messages explored at Chapel and through Christian education classes, our students are guided towards life as well-rounded and caring individuals.
